Whirlpool Wigwag Replacement

The following depicts the layout of the wigwag on an older model (pre-1984) Whirlpool or Kenmore washer.
wigwag

When looking at the wig-wag from the back panel opening, there are 2 solenoids which have 2 wires each. The left solenoid is the spin solenoid, and it has a red and a white wire. The right solenoid is the agitate solenoid, and it has a yellow and a white wire. If either wire gets loose or broken, the solenoid cannot engage. Theses solenoids can be checked for continuity using your trusty OHM meter. Be sure to unplug the machine before you test them!

To replace the wigwag, remove the bolt in the center of the shaft holding the wigwag on, and it will lift up off of the two cam followers. Then, once free, remove the four wires, taking care to re-attach them exactly on the new wigwag. Reassemble in reverse order, taking care to engage both cam followers in the respective holes in the wigwag.

Now all you need is the wig-wag. We've got 'em on special right now, only $21.95!
