tankless water heater & automatic temp. control on washer

Admiral washer ATW4475VQ This washer has an automatic temp. control that is apparently not compatible with a tankless gas water heater. When I set the control to warm and turn the washer on, it begins filling with cold water. At intervals, hot water is mixed with the cold to create warm, except in my case not enought hot water gets mixed in because by the time the cold water that sits in the hot water pipe is moved out of the way, the washer has quit calling for hot water and the water heater shuts off. I'm sure you're probably familiar with tankless hot water heaters, but just in case you aren't, they don't heat water and maintain the set temp. all the time like a water heater that has a tank. The tankless ones only heat the water when there is a call for it and the washer doesn't call for hot water long enough at the time for the water heater to stay on a sufficient amount of time. I don't know if there is a "fix" for this problem other than buying a washer that does not have an automatic temp. control. I didn't have this problem with my old washer.

Call a licensed Maytag servicer and make them come to your house and check the new washer before you do anything else. This is what the warranty is for. Tell the call taker you cannot get warm water and leave it to the technician to make the assessment.
